The University of Nevada, Reno, the first land-grant university in Nevada and a Carnegie R1 research institution, partnered with Cosm to transform the educational experience within its Fleischmann Planetarium. Marking the world’s first LED dome on a university campus, the new George W. Gillemot Foundation Dome in the Fleischmann Planetarium will feature a next-generation, 9-meter CX System LED dome display and revolutionary immersive software that will usher in the next chapter of experiential education and community engagement in Reno, the state of Nevada, and beyond.
Powered by Cosm Technology, the new George W. Gillemot Foundation Dome in the Fleischmann Planetarium will not only drive the next generation of aerospace engineers and STEM professionals, but it will also inspire campus-wide collaboration among students, faculty, and departments. With CX System, the transformed planetarium will immerse guests in the highest-quality astronomy simulations and scientific visualizations in the highest-level resolution and contrast. CX System additionally enables easy creation of dynamic environments that engage students across multiple disciplines, providing a connective experience platform that transcends the traditional boundaries of a classroom and encourages students and visitors to explore new frontiers of learning, innovation, and community.
